Kalon Studios launches in Europe with a select collection of products made in Europe for Europe from exclusively European materials.
Kalon’s first range of European made goods will be on display at the De Breuyn group exhibition held in conjunction with Kind + Jugend.
As with its American made goods, Kalon Studios follows a philosophy of local manufacturing. All pieces in the collection are sustainably manufactured to order, built and distributed by De Breuyn, one of Europe’s most trusted eco-friendly companies.

Curated by Inhabitots, ‘The Modern Family Lounge’ at Dwell on Design will spotlight Kalon Studios’ work. Several pieces of Kalon’s latest work will be mixed in with the very best in contemporary design for kids and the family. The lounge welcomes modernists of all ages to try out the latest playhouses, toys, and pint-size furniture and kids’ room accessories.
Modern Family at Dwell on Design is also hosting panels on Saturday by Los Angeles architect Barbara Bestor and interior designer Erica Islas and father David Lai.

ZOOM! provides a snapshot of contemporary design for children focusing on a select young, emerging creative design and art scene. Zoom! is a series of individual rooms furnished exclusively for children. The focus of the exhibition is on the living environment of children featuring object that surround kids in their daily lives.
The exhibition was originally shown in Milan before moving to Graz (2011 Design Capital of Austria) for Austrian Design Month.
Natural Child magazine launches it’s first issue in April 2011 with Kalon Studios on the cover and a 6 page feature article on the studio. The magazine is doing a giveaway of a Caravan crib to celebrate the launch. Details at NaturalChildWorld.com

Stella McCartney Kids and unduetrestella are hosting a lounge event in partnership with Elle Junior magazine for Design Week 2011. The lounge will display work by designers Kalon Studios (USA/Germany), COLLECT furniture (Denmark), Perludi (Austria), AL2869 (Itally), Lilliane (Netherlands) and artist Letizia Cariello.
