Introducing the Dream No. 1 Mattress. Made in the U.S.A. from 100% Natural, Organic Materials.

Introducing the Dream No. 1 Mattress. Made in the U.S.A. from 100% Natural, Organic Materials.

We wanted to make the purest, most comfortable and most “transparent” mattresss there is: Introducing the Dream No. 1 mattress. Made in the USA without any additives or toxins using only four pure materials: organic coir, organic natural latex, natural wool and organic cotton. Each is carefully sourced and certified for natural, organic content at the various stages of production, from farmer and crop to factory.

The Dream No. 1 mattress is the result of years of thought and research and the realization that it’s not always easy to figure out what is inside a mattress nor to sift through unregulated descriptors such as “natural” or “organic”. Honoring the fact that on average, over a third of our life is spent sleeping, we created a mattress that provides the continous even support our sleeping bodies need from completely pure, non-toxic, natural materials. There is no off-gassing, no hidden chemicals, no secret proprietary components. What you see is what you get. Simple, honest, pure.

Naturally hypoallergenic and resistant to bacteria and mold. Naturally fire-retardant. Naturally cooling. Sustainably made to order. One piece at a time.

What’s inside
The Dream No. 1 mattress is made of layers of 4 materials. The core is made from layers of organic palm coir (coconut fiber from recycled coconut husks) and hand-molded natural latex derived from organic rubber trees. This core is wrapped in 100% sheep’s wool, which is a natural fire retardant and so the mattress doesn’t need to be treated with the chemical flame retardants standarly used in bedding. The ticking is 100% premium GOTS certified cotton. The only non-organic component is the stitching used to quilt the wool batting to the ticking. Nylon thread is the only available thread for this. It amounts for less than 1% of the total materials. Quilting thread aside, all components are biodegradable.

By layering materials in this way, the Dream No. 1 offers two surfaces and so is flippable. The coir offers a firmer surface, the latex a softer one. Both offer excellent, continuous support.

kidsroomZOOM! is an exhibition dedicated to design and art for children. It is the only event of its kind and the most important one in its field during Milan’s Design Week.

ZOOM! provides a snapshot of contemporary design for children focusing on a select young, emerging creative design and art scene. The exhibition is staged in a 250sqm elegant apartment on the third floor of a residential building, located in an exclusive area in the heart of Milan. The exhibition area represents a living space, whose individual rooms are furnished as children’s rooms. Focusing on interpreting the living environment of children, the event also features objects that surround children in their daily life. To a child, the bedroom is what the whole house represents for an adult: a safe heaven, a cosy place that protects its inhabitants from the outside world. A well de- signed children’s bedroom must take into consideration elements of the child’s development process. Furniture and other objects contribute to build the material world around a child and are also significant conveyors of meaning.

The Wilderness Collection, a collaboration between Kalon Studios and Nico Nico, will be debuted in Europe at the exhibition.
