A love letter to the living room and lounging
The Rugosa Collection was designed by Kalon founders Johann Pauwen and Michaele Simmering seeking to capture the spirit and sensibility of the Rhode Island seaside house for which the collection was named. A summer home to generations of artists and scholars, Rugosa (beach rose) is filled with ample, breeze filled living spaces configured for conversation, music, and quiet study. Evoking the principles and aesthetics of the Modernist movement, the collection embraces straight-forward forms, materials and production processes. Made from broad planks of Western Sugar Pine, bronzed glass and upholstered in Belgian linens with 100% down/feather fill, the pieces are as comfortable and inviting as they are sustainable and beautiful.
Rugosa is the culmination of a two-year conversation about the evolving function and spirit of living rooms. Offered a range of colors and textures that reflect that draw upon the natural world and antiquities. The collection includes a sofa, armchair, day bed, coffee table, side table, and bookshelf.
