Cancellation Policy

We start processing your order as soon as it is received. For in stock items, only orders not yet processed for shipment may be cancelled. A 5% non-refundable processing fee is included in the cost of all orders. If you choose to cancel your item(s) prior to shipment, this 5% fee will not be refunded. We will credit cancelled orders in the form of payment used. For made to order items and items marked for Final Sale, all sales are final. Once your order is placed, cancellations will not be permitted.

Custom

On custom orders, we require a $500 design deposit to initiate drawings for your approval. The deposit is non-refundable and will be credited to your order. Due to the extra development involved, lead times on custom-designed pieces are dependent on the given project. Finish Quality

Part of the beauty of working with natural materials is the expected variation in grains and hues. Such differences within our products are not indicative of a defect. With products made with green wood, splitting and irregularities are to be expected as the product ages and dries. This is an intended part of the design and not a defect.

Kalon Studios cannot match or guarantee specific wood grains or hues nor will accept any return or refusal of goods based upon variation in grains and hues.

Lead Time

In stock items ship in 5-10 business days. Made-to-order items typically ship in 6-12 weeks. Lead times are specific to each item and are listed on individual product pages. Please note lead times are not guaranteed and are estimates only. Lead times begin with receipt of payment and finalization of order details.

Limited Manufacturer Warranty

Kalon Studios offers a guarantee to the original Purchaser (“Purchaser”) only that the Kalon Studios product lines it manufactures (”Product”) are free of defects in workmanship and materials.

Should any failure to conform with this limited warranty appear to a Product listed below during the applicable warranty period from the date of shipment, Kalon Studios shall, upon prompt notice, repair or replace, at its option and costs, the affected part of parts.

Product and Period of Warranty

  • 10 Years: Kalon Studios organic mattresses
  • 5 Years: Kalon Studios cribs, beds
  • 3 Years: Kalon Studios organic pillows
  • 1 Year: Kalon Studios dressers, tables, chairs

THIS GUARANTEE DOES NOT APPLY TO:

  • Failure to follow product care instructions as supplied by Kalon Studios
  • Damage caused by a carrier other than Kalon Studios.
  • Normal wear and tear or acts or omissions of parties other than Kalon Studios (including user modification).
  • Customers Own Material or other third party materials applied to Products.
  • Products not installed following instructions or damaged by careless removal of packaging.
  • Dramatic temperature variations or exposure to unusual conditions.
  • Any normal cracking or wear on finish due to use and aging.
  • Splitting or irregularities in products made with green wood.

Orders Purchased Through Retailers Other Than KalonStudios.com

If you purchased your items from one of our retailers, please contact the retailer directly for their shipping, sales and returns policy. At this time, Kalon Studios cannot accept inquiries about, nor returns or claims for orders purchased from a retailer other than KalonStudios.com.

Production Quality

We reserve the right to alter minor details of our products and in other informational materials we provide in the interest of maintaining product quality and design integrity. Accordingly, products shipped may differ slightly from those depicted on our website or in product information materials. Colors and hues of products as likewise depicted may differ slightly from the real life product.

Returns

Due to the custom nature of the furniture, ALL FURNITURE SALES ARE FINAL. We will gladly replace defective or missing parts at no additional charge. Non-furniture items marked for Final Sale cannot be returned or exchanged.

Do not attempt a return without first having obtained a Kalon Studios written authorization. Kalon will not accept returns without prior written authorization. Authorized returns must be shipped with original packaging. Items returned incomplete, damaged or without defect will be assessed a restocking fee of 30% plus shipping costs.

If you purchased your order from one of our retailers, please contact the retailer directly for their return policy. At this time, we cannot accept returns for items purchased from a retailer other than KalonStudios.com.

NON REFUNDABLE FEES
Shipping and handling charges are nonrefundable.

Return shipping and return pickup fees are the customer’s responsibility and are non-refundable.

Sales Tax

All sales delivered within the state of California are subject to California sales tax.

Shipping & Delivery

Kalon Studios offers flat rate ground shipping through out the United States and Canada. Shipping and handling charges are quoted in U.S. dollars and include full insurance. Quotes are excluding import duties and taxes. All orders are F.O.B. origin unless otherwise specified. Orders may arrive is separate deliveries.

Shipping internationally is also available (see INTERNATIONAL ORDERS below for details).

STANDARD SHIPPING
Standard shipping is curbside delivery. For domestic and Canadian shipments, White Glove Service is available but additional charges apply (see WHITE GLOVE SERVICE below for details). Our shipping rates are subject to change without prior notice.

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS

Shipping internationally is available. Shipping quotes are done on a per order basis and dependent on destination and are excluding import duties and taxes. WHITE GLOVE SERVICE

For shipments throughout the contiguous U.S., White Glove Delivery is available with an additional charge. Our White Glove delivery service includes placement inside a room of your choice, inside stair carries (up to two flights), unpacking and debris removal. The rates for White Glove delivery are subject to change without prior notice. 

RECEIVING SHIPMENTS

Furniture items will be shipped via a standard parcel or LTL freight carrier. Most carriers schedule deliveries Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm. Customers must be onsite to receive, inspect, and sign for delivery. Unless special arrangements have been made, all shipments are curbside delivery. Storage and redelivery fees are the responsibility of the consignee and will be billed at cost.

UNPACKING YOUR ITEM

Please take care when opening the shipping carton. Do not use a sharp knife or tool to open cartons as you risk cutting into the furniture. All staples should be fully removed prior to taking the item from the carton, otherwise you run the risk of scratching the piece as you remove it from the carton. 

INSPECTION

Even though items are packaged properly, transit-related damage can occur. Kalon Studios takes great care in packaging items to ensure safe transport and all shipments are insured against loss or damage. When an order arrives, please inspect your order at the time of delivery and only accept merchandise received in good condition. It is imperative that the outer boxes be inspected carefully and that any damage to the boxes and additional packaging materials is noted on the delivery receipt. Shipping documents should not be signed without recording details of transit damage. (For example: the box is crushed on the top corner, punctured, or wet.) If you decide to accept merchandise that appears to be damaged, please indicate the condition next to your signature accepting the delivery. Take photos of any damage to the packaging. If you are unable to thoroughly inspect the merchandise at the time of receiving the shipment, note on the BOL “subject to inspection” that any concealed damage of boxed or crated products will be the responsibility of the carrier upon inspection. Full inspection must occur within 48 hours of delivery and all freight claims filed within 48 hours. Save all packaging material and take photos of the damage. Failure to save the packaging will invalidate a claim.

SHIPPING DAMAGES

Any claims for damaged goods must be settled by the customer and the carrier selected to deliver the goods and are not the responsibility of Kalon Studios. Though we are more than happy to assist in any way as you file your claim, ALL DAMAGE CLAIMS MUST BE DIRECTED AND HANDLED THROUGH THE SHIPPING COMPANY.

All shipments from Kalon Studios are insured against damage and loss. Should damage happen, you must notify the shipping company immediately and retain all packaging materials. If you wish to have our assistance in filing the claim, you must notify Kalon Studios within 48 hours of delivery of the damaged merchandise to you. We will do everything we can to help with your claim.

White Glove Service

For shipments throughout the contiguous U.S., White Glove Delivery is available with an additional charge. Claims

Kalon Studios takes great care in making each piece. We inspect all pieces prior to shipment to make sure they’re perfect before shipping to our customers. If a shipment arrives with the appearance of shipping damage or a manufacturing defect, please notify us immediately at Studio [ @ ] KalonStudios.com and we will do our best to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. We will send you a claim form once we receive your email to fill out and digital photographs will be required. Without these items, no item or part will be replaced. 

A couple of IMPORTANT things to note in the claims filing process:

  1. Retain all packaging. Without packaging we cannot process a claim.
  2. Retain all shipping receipts (B.O.L. etc)
  3. Full inspection must occur within 48 hours of delivery and all freight claims filed within 48 hours. Failure to do so will constitute full and unconditional acceptance of the products.
  4. Please inspect the damaged/defective item carefully to be sure that all damage/defect is noted. (For example: the box is crushed on the top corner, punctured, or wet.)
  5. In the event of shipping damage, you are required to comply with the claims policy requirements of the shipping company used to deliver the item. Should the shipping company require it, the damaged item must be available for inspection.
  6. Any determination of defects in Kalon products is Kalon Studios’ sole discretion.
  7. If you purchased your order from one of our retailers, please contact the retailer directly for their claims policy.
  8. If a manufacturing defect determination is made, a return authorization number is required to ship back the item. Returns must be shipped with original packaging. Items returned incomplete, damaged or without defect will be assessed a restocking fee of 30% plus shipping costs.
