Wildfire Relief Free Market
January 14 – February 15, 2025

In the aftermath of the devastating Los Angeles wildfires, community can feel like the strongest force of all. Our Wildfire Relief Free Market is an immediate, on-the-ground effort distributing new, high-quality essentials directly to those impacted. Intentionally staged to feel like a familiar, dignity-rich retail experience, the market allows visitors to shop for what they need, selecting items they would normally choose for themselves. Every product has been thoughtfully sourced for quality, donated directly by the brands that make them.

Since opening in our showroom on January 14, the market has provided direct relief to over 3,000 individuals. The effort has been met with overwhelming support and recognition, with features in Vogue, the LA Times, and international press like Baunetz and Frankfurter Allgemeine — underscoring the power of intentional design, not just in what we create but in how we give back.

We are endlessly grateful for every individual, company, and brand who, with no direct benefit to themselves, helped keep the market stocked and running, no matter how many people came through.

“At its core, it’s about preserving something fundamental: dignity, community, identity.” Kalon co-founder Michaele Simmering
