Victoria Morris – New Work

November 8 – 22, 2025

New Work marks a return to practice for Los Angeles–based ceramicist Victoria Morris. Made specifically for this exhibition after the loss of her home and studio in the Altadena wildfires, the pieces on view signal an evolution in her work—larger in scale, proportionally complex, and expanding her vocabulary of form and surface.

Thrown in mid-range stoneware and fired at her new studio in Ventura, each vessel is composed of two separately thrown forms, joined as they begin to dry. The technique allows for new balances to emerge—between weight and lift, curve and plane. Glazes new for this series continue Morris’s exploration of tonal and textural variation, extending the quiet precision that defines her practice.

“This year opened in unimaginable grief and loss. Recently, something began to shift—and amongst one of the many unexpected insights born of change also came an evolution in form and scale.”

Victoria Morris
A Los Angeles native, Victoria Morris has spent over 30 years refining a ceramic practice defined by restraint, proportion, and the quiet beauty of imperfection. Deeply informed by the traditions of mid-century studio pottery, her work embodies a timeless sensibility—at once modern and rooted in craft. Each vessel reflects a reverence for material and process, balancing simplicity with the expressive potential of form.

Victoria Morris New Work is on view at the Kalon Showroom through November 22, 2025.
