Bough Collection — New Work

Kalon presents new additions to the Bough Collection, a celebration of America’s longstanding—and increasingly rare—furniture craft traditions. This installation debuts new designs, including a Round Table and Bar Stools, along with expanded domestic hardwood options.
Designed in Los Angeles and made in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, the Bough Collection reflects Kalon’s long-standing collaboration with Amish and Mennonite craftspeople. The work brings contemporary design into dialogue with traditional craft communities whose exceptional precision and material expertise shape each piece.
Custom-developed joinery with blackened steel detailing draws inspiration from Japan’s sashimono technique, where intricate concealed joinery and minimal hardware create a quiet expression of structure. A study in contrast, the Bough Collection pairs heavy slabs of solid wood with slender, sculptural legs—balancing the traditional and the modern, delicacy and resilience.
