The Material Studies I Chair in Raw Aluminum translates Rugosa’s original indoor design into uncoated aluminum and outdoor-rated textiles, allowing the material to define the character of the piece. The slender frame retains the collection’s refined silhouette, while the unfinished metal carries a soft, natural luster—neither polished nor matte, but quietly luminous, revealing subtle shifts in tone across its surface. The velvety textile seat and back introduce warmth and depth, creating a tactile counterpoint to the cool precision of the metal without disturbing the restraint of the form.

In this finish, the chair feels more elemental. Its calm surface and precise proportions give it a presence that is deliberate rather than casual, suited equally to interior rooms and open-air settings.
