Material Studies I Chair

The Material Studies I Chair is formed from powder-coated aluminum and outdoor-rated textiles, translating Rugosa’s original indoor design into a lighter, more graphic structure suited to exterior environments. Powder coating gives the frame a uniform, saturated surface, allowing color to define the character of the piece. The slender metal frame sharpens the collection’s pared-down silhouette, while the textile seat and back introduce warmth and depth against the precision of the structure.

Durable enough for seaside, desert, or urban settings, the chair moves easily between interior and exterior spaces, expanding the idea of the living room beyond the walls of the home. In this finish, color does much of the work, anchoring the piece against landscape, architecture, and open sky.
