Rugosa: A Forthcoming Collection
A first glimpse into a new material world.
On May 18, 2020 we will introduce Rugosa, a new collection of living room pieces debuting as part of Sight Unseen’s Offsite Online. Originally intended for release in Milan, the work will enter the world differently than planned—seen first through fragments, textures, and the atmosphere of its materials rather than fully assembled forms.
Some collections are designed to invite a way of living; others to invite a feeling. Rugosa is a collection shaped by both. Its materials were chosen for the ease they bring into a room—informal, familiar, intuitively lived in. Even in abstraction, they offer a quiet sense of welcome, suggesting spaces meant for lingering and forms that remain unforced.
These are only the earliest hints. The collection will come into full view in the weeks ahead; for now, these details offer enough—an introduction through texture and tone to the experience Rugosa is designed to hold.
Rugosa will be our first collection released simultaneously in Europe and the United States.
