Material Studies II Case Bench

The Material Studies II Case Bench combines mirrored aluminum with a continuous slab of quartzite or marble. Its elongated form is divided into three open compartments, establishing a measured rhythm beneath the stone.

The slender mirrored frame shifts the perception of mass, at times dissolving into its surroundings as it reflects the objects it holds and extends interior space. Books, vessels, and sculpture become part of its surface—multiplied and reframed within the silvered structure. Above, richly pigmented stone introduces density and saturated tone, giving the piece weight and definition.

Equally suited to stand freely within a room or rest against a wall, the bench functions as both seating and display. Reflection and storage merge into a single composition—precise, deliberate, and quietly commanding.
