Kalon’s holiday shop puts its focus on the women of the Bauhaus and Black Mountain College. Refugees, educators, poets, potters, painters and performers, these women found a way to make space for themselves within institutions and movements where women’s voices were (and still are) largely absent. The collections we have on display are an ode to the enduring inspiration of these women and the power of the work they created. This special offering of giftable items includes our newly released wooden Tableware inspired by work done by Mim Sihvonen, handprinted table and bed linens inspired by the women of the Bauhaus by Studio Ford, and beautiful handcrafted bronze accessories for the table by Ramsey Conder.
